I love the freshness and spontaneity of watercolour and try and capture this in my painting. I mainly paint in this medium. Colour and light are an important part of my painting and I like to use pen and wash to define shape and design in some subjects.
I spent my childhood in South Africa and the bright light and wonderful colours have influenced and inspired me and I try and convey this on paper. I studied Fine Art at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg and then in London I did a course at the Inchbald School of Design. I live in Chipstead, have a family and enjoy our garden and the wonderful country around here. I have been a member of TAG for many years and have so enjoyed the painting evenings we have together. The camaraderie and friendship of the members are so encouraging and it is a pleasure to paint with them
